The short version

Weekfold is free to read. There are no ads, no tracking cookies and no accounts stored on our side. We only hold your email address if you subscribe.

If you subscribe

Your email address is stored by our newsletter service, Buttondown, and used only to send the Sunday edition. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

If you sign in with Google

Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with this page. They are kept in your own browser so the site can greet you and fill in your email. They are not sent to or stored on a Weekfold server. Signing out removes them from your browser.

Other services the pages use

• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces.
• Wikimedia Commons is where story photos come from. They are copied onto Weekfold, so your browser does not contact Wikimedia when you read.
• Our web host serves the pages.

Like any website, these services see your IP address and browser type when your browser asks them for files.
